The Cheiron School was established to meet the basic objectives of the AOFSRR summer school. The school is named for Cheiron, one of the immortal Greek gods who was known for providing the right knowledge and skills to the appropriate mortal. Cheiron's feats included teaching martial arts to Hercules, the art of medicine to Aesculapius, and equestrian arts to Castor.
To provide useful and basic knowledge as well as perspectives of synchrotron radiation science and technology for graduate students, postdoctrals, young scientists and engineers in Asia Oceania region.
